AMENHOTEP AND MIN

In this illustration we see the Pharaoh framed on the back wall by images of the fertility god Min and above the vulture goddess Nekhbet, spreading her wings of protection.

Min was a very ancient god with whom the king was closely associated with to ensure the fertility of the land and people. During the New Kingdom (1550 -1069 BC) he was believed to be a manifestation of Amun.
